My Story
I have always been an artist. I come from a long line of painters, seamstresses, and woodworkers, which have been major influences in my life and career. I studied illustration, painting, and photography at the Rhode Island School of Design, which led me to jobs that paved the way to where I am today.
Most notably in 1987, I worked in New York City at the design department of the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, where I was a project manager and an artist for many years. For six years I owned my own interior design business which included a sewing workroom, where we made the best of the best in Westport, Connecticut. Starting in 2013, I spent seven years working side by side with California architect Howard Backen on projects that shaped my current design aesthetic and vision. This led to opening my own firm in late 2019.
The path to where I am today has evolved from all of my life experiences, with a love for art, antiques, craftsmanship, road trips, and an extreme attention to detail. I am involved in my projects from the very beginning, working closely with the clients, the architect, and the contractor. It’s an incredibly personal journey that I find fascinating, exciting, and challenging on a daily basis.
